Quotes
The Army is like a St. Bernard. It's big and heavy and sloppy and a bit clumsy. But it's powerful and has lots of stamina and is built for the long haul.
The Navy is like a Golden Retreiver. They're good natured and great around the house. Their hair is a bit long and they often go wandering off for long periods of time. They love water and kids love them.
Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat.
--RAdm. "Jay" R. Stark, USN; 10 November 1995
The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps! --Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945
Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem.
--Ronald Reagan, President of the United States; 1985
You cannot exaggerate about the Marines. They are convinced to the point of arrogance, that they are the most ferocious fighters on earth- and the amusing thing about it is that they are.
--Father Kevin Keaney, 1st Marine Division Chaplain
If the MC brings you to it, the board will get you through it!
Moderator
Hey, I'm Stephanie! I've been on the board for 4 years and I'm one of Lori's *helpers*. I
joined the Parris Island board when Patrick went through in 2005 and joined the USMC Board once he became a Marine. I've been with him through Parris Island, MCT, and MP school, two duty stations and we just finished our 3rd deployment! I moderate the NC Bases
and Midwest MOS Schools section of the USMC ("Big") board, but I can be found all over the place. Feel free to post questions on the board, Instant
Message or inbox me if there's anything I can help with (USMC or otherwise)!
About Me
I love spending my free time visiting my
best friends in Boston, talking to friends across the country online, moderating the USMC Families Board, swimming and scrapbooking. I'm a student working
on my Bachelor's in Social Work, I want to work with military families & children. I was raised in a proud military family, my Pop was a WWII SSgt and
has been a big inspiration in my life. I'm super close with my mom and my 3 sisters (think Gilmore Girls crossed with a sorority). I'm a huge fan of
Boston sports. I love BU Hockey, the Sox and the Pats. I was born in the summer, raised on a boat, and have been addicted to the sand and salt since.
The Marine
Patrick is a Corporal in the United
States Marine Corps, OORAH! He joined DEP
(delayed entry program) our senior year of high school and went to Parris Island September 6th 2005 to join Golf Co, Plt 2100. He was medically dropped right
before the crucible and spent a month in MRP before joining Mike Co, Plt 3001 to graduate January 6th 2006. He completed a month of Recruiter's Assistance
before going on to MCT and Military Police MOS School in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Patrick, aka "Weasel" was stationed at MCAS Cherry Point as an MP and
PMO dispatcher for a year up until his deployment as a gunner with 2nd Supply and CLB-6. He just finished deployment #3 as a Fire Team
Leader with Security Co of CLB-8.
We've been friends since the 4th grade, were high school sweethearts and couldn't be more in love to this day. We're currently living in NC with
our kitten Mojo-Jojo.
Whatever It Takes, We'll Find A Way
